The renovations to this urban townhouse include a master suite with generous built-ins for storage and minimal furniture.  Panelling, millwork and radiators from the original house were restored as a contrast to the flush, modern detailing of the new built-in maple closets.  A Moroccan inspired laser-cut screen rings the upper room and carries into the bathroom.  The screen is back painted in vivid colors that reflect softly on the plaster surfaces beyond.  Where the screen is un-perforated, the pattern continues as a white-on-white painted stencil.  The room changes character with the time of day or weather; a peaceful oasis.
